Merdeka.com – Three chicken coops at a farm owned by residents of Kampung Babakanrengas RT01 RW01, Karangsegar Village, Pebayuran District, Bekasi Regency were burned down, Thursday (15/9). As a result of this incident, thousands of chickens were scorched by the red rooster.
Three chicken coops on an area of 5,000 square meters caught fire at around 05.30 WIB. The fire is thought to have originated from a short circuit in the blower installed in the chicken coop.
“Three chicken coops that caught fire were large in size. Inside the coop there were small chickens,” said Head of the Bekasi District Fire Service, Hasan Basri.
He confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of this incident. Because the location of the chicken coop is far from residential areas.
“There were no victims who died or were injured, the location of the burning chicken coop was in the rice fields, far from where the residents lived,” Hasan said.
This chicken coop is made of combustible material, which makes the fire spread quickly. Three units of fire engines that were deployed managed to extinguish the fire after about three hours of extinguishing it.
“Personnel arrived at the location at 06.40 WIB, and the fire was extinguished at 09.30 WIB. We deployed fire trucks from North Cikarang and West Cikarang,” he said.
