Merdeka.com – The commotion between supporters and residents occurred in a number of locations in Sleman Regency, DIY, Monday (25/7). This commotion started with the arrival of Persis Solo supporters to the DIY area with the aim of watching their favorite team compete in Magelang, Central Java.
Regarding this commotion, the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sultan HB X, also spoke up. The Sultan emphasized that there were no problems between Yogyakarta and Solo.
“Is there a problem between us and Solo? We don’t have any problems,” said the Sultan, Tuesday (26/7).
“I always remind you not to do violence, it’s physical in nature. We need to build a civilization that is polite, can respect other people,” continued the Sultan.
The King of the Yogyakarta Palace reminded that physical violence would not happen again in Yogyakarta. The Sultan also asked the people of Yogyakarta to exercise restraint, including if there were provocations from other parties.
“Why is violence always happening? We just reminded yesterday, another fight. Now there is another violence too. Why does violence in a physical sense always occur? What is the reason? But I hope these things don’t have to happen,” said the Sultan.
“It was a provocation and so on, but who did it? I also don’t know. Maybe the sentences made on social media are uncomfortable too. But why does it have to mean physical violence? It seems we can’t be patient people,” he added. Sultan.
Regarding the rivalry of fans football, the Sultan asked that the rivalry should not be carried out excessively outside the field. This includes rivalry on social media which is considered unnecessary.
“I don’t think it’s necessary to put inappropriate sentences on social media. It will only cause emotions that are actually useless,” said Sultan.
