Tax Revenue Exceeds Target, Reaches IDR 868.3 Trillion in Semester I-2022 | merdeka.com

Merdeka.com – Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati reported that tax revenues in the first semester of 2022 reached Rp 868.3 trillion. This achievement has exceeded the target or about 58.5 percent.

“Until the first semester, tax revenue reached Rp 868.3 trillion or 58.5 percent of the target,” Sri Mulyani said at the State Budget KiTa Press Conference, JakartaWednesday (27/7).

He detailed that the tax revenue came from non-oil and gas PPh of Rp 519.6 trillion or 69.4 percent. According to him, this is an extraordinary achievement in just half a year.

Then from the PPN and PPNBM posts of Rp. 300.9 trillion or 47.1 percent. Then from the post of PBB and other taxes of Rp. 4.8 trillion or 14.9 percent of the target. Meanwhile, oil and gas PPh reached Rp 43 trillion or 66.6 percent.

Based on these data, tax revenue grew 55.7 percent. This achievement was due to rising commodity prices and a positive impact on state revenues.

“And because economic growth is recovering and improving, so it has a positive impact on tax revenue,” he said.

Another reason, this year’s tax revenue base is still not very high because the economy is just starting to recover. As is known, last year Indonesia was still affected by the delta variant.

In addition, the increase in tax revenue this year is also inseparable from the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS) which ended last June. “This June we closed the PPS program and there was an increase in VAT from the implemented program,” he said.

He added that the second semester of tax revenue will experience challenges because there is no PPS and the basis for last year’s tax revenue growth has improved. So that these factors will have an impact on tax revenues next semester.

“So we will be more dependent on economic growth factors, which we hope will recover and be healthy. Indeed, there is a reason that the eco-recovery is strong enough,” he said. [azz]
