Merdeka.com – An inter-provincial bus caught fire on Jalan Denpasar-Gilimanuk, Banjar Balai Agung, Yehembang Village, Mendoyo District, Jembrana Regency, Bali, Friday (16/9) at around 04.30 WITA.
The bus was carrying 26 passengers and at the time of the incident. Luckily there were no fatalities in the fire incident
“There are 26 passengers on the bus and all are safe,” said the Head of the Mondoyo Police, AKP I Putu Suarmadi.
The fire broke out on the bus dashboard. Meanwhile, according to Khabibi, who is the driver, the bus with the name M Trans has the number police (Nopol) DK 7061 OD departs from SurabayaEast Java, on Thursday (15/9) around 17.00 WITA.
Before leaving, the bus was repaired in the garage in the electrical section because the wiper did not work, after the bus departed from Surabaya when the wiper was used it could function as usual.
Then, on Friday (16/9) at around 04.30 WITA, the driver or witness smelled a burning smell. Suddenly fire appeared from the dashboard.
Through the incident, the driver was assisted by passengers to extinguish the fire with water. Meanwhile, witness Riyanto, who is the conductor, contacted the Jembrana Regency Fire Department, Bali, and at around 04.45 WITA the fire was extinguished.
“At 04.50 WITA three fire engines arrived at the scene to ensure that the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire was an electrical short in the wiper cable,” he said.
