Bayern Officially Sells Lewandowski to Barca

PURWOKERTO.SUARA.COM Bayern Munich reaffirming they will not recruit Cristiano Ronaldo after reaching an agreement to sell Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

After several weeks of negotiations, Barcelona finally secured a deal to bring Lewandowski to Camp Nou for a fee of 50 million pounds.

Bayern director Oliver Kahn told Bild media that in the end Barcelona offered a reasonable amount for Lewandowski.

“We were also successful in the recent transfer market by bringing in world-class striker Sadio Mane. So we reached an agreement with Barcelona,” Kahn said, quoted from Metro.co.uk.

“But so far only verbal, the contract is still pending,” he added.

Bayern, who bought Sadio Mane for 35 million pounds from Liverpool, are one of the European clubs who may sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old said he wanted to leave Manchester United this summer in order to play in the Champions League this season.

However, Bayern’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, told Sport1 last Saturday that he was not interested in signing Ronaldo.

“I have a lot of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, his success and his career, but again that’s not our focus,” said Salihamidzic.

At the start of this week, Chelsea also stated that he was not interested in signing Ronaldo. They said they needed a more defensive line by recruiting center back Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
