Rain on Friday Afternoon, 14 Districts in Jakarta Flooded

Selebtek.voice.com – Intensity rain which was quite high in the areas of West Java, Jakarta and Banten on Friday (15/7/2022) at 18.00 WIB, causing a number of regions to experience flood.

Based on a report received by the Operations Control Center (Pusdalops BNPB) as of July 16, 2022, in Jakarta there are 14 sub-districts affected by flooding. The puddle that soaked the residents’ settlements was observed in the South Jakarta City area.

These include Cilandak Subdistrict (Lebak Bulus and Pondok Labu Subdistricts), Kebayoran Lama Subdistrict (Cipulir and Pondok Pinang Subdistricts), Kebayoran Baru Subdistrict (Petogogan Village), and Jagakarsa Subdistrict (Ciganjur, Srengseng Sawah, Cipedak and Tanjung Barat Villages).

Then Mampang Prapatan District (Bangka Sub-district), Pesanggarahan District (Ulujami Sub-district), Pasar Minggu District (East Cilandak and East Pejatem Villages) and Pancoran District (Rajawati Village).

Furthermore, in the West Jakarta City area, floods inundated residential areas in Kebon Jeruk District (North Kedoya District), Cengkareng District (Rawa Buaya District), Kembangan District (Joglo and North Kembangan Districts) and Kalideres District (Tegal Alur and Kamal Sub-districts).

Meanwhile in East Jakarta City, the flood submerged residential areas in Kramat Jati Sub-districts (Cililitan, Cawang and Balekambang Sub-districts) and Jatinegara Sub-districts (Bidara Cina and Kampung Melayu Sub-districts).

Based on a release received by BNPB, as many as 111 houses were flooded with water levels of 30 to 50 centimeters. There were nine people or 2 families who fled to the house of close relatives. As for the current condition, it is observed that flooding in several areas is gradually receding.

Meanwhile BMKG issued an early warning warning of the potential for rain that could be accompanied by lightning/lightning in the South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas in the afternoon to evening for 16 and 17 July 2022 as well as the potential for rain that could be accompanied by lightning/lightning in the West Jakarta, South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas in the afternoon to evening for July 18, 2022.

BNPB appealed to the community and local government to be alert and ready to face the danger of flooding. Residents can monitor weather forecasts through the BMKG website and check potential risks and hazards in their residential areas through InaRISK as a preparedness measure. Mitigation activities can be carried out through the condition and cleaning of waste in waterways in residential areas.

If it has been raining for more than an hour with high intensity and an increase in water discharge is observed, the local government can inform the community of flood early warnings through communication networks and evacuate to a safer place.
