Merdeka.com – PT Pertamina (Persero) confirms the quality of fuel oil (BBM) Pertalite type (RON 90) has not changed. Pertalite which is marketed through official distributors in Indonesia is in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of Oil and Gas Number 0486.K/10/DJM.S/2017 concerning Standards and Quality (Specifications) of 90 Types of Gasoline Fuel Oil which is marketed domestically.
“The limitations in the specifications of the Director General of Oil and Gas that indicate the evaporation rate at room temperature include the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) parameter. Currently the RVP test results from Pertalite which are distributed from Pertamina’s Fuel Oil Terminal (TBBM) are still within the permitted limits, namely in range of 45-69 kPa (Kilopascal),” said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting in a written statement, Wednesday (21/9).
Pertamina guarantees that all fuel products distributed through official distribution agencies such as gas stations and Pertashop are in accordance with specifications and through strict quality control. Meanwhile, fuel products that do not meet the specified specifications will not be distributed to the public.
“Pertamina is committed to distributing quality fuel products according to specifications. Through quality control, products that do not meet specifications will not be distributed to distributors,” said Irto.
Pertamina urges consumers to purchase fuel at official distribution agencies, such as gas stations and Pertashop, so that the quality and safety of the fuel products obtained are guaranteed.
The public is also advised to fill up with fuel in accordance with the provisions stated in the motorized vehicle manual because the manufacturer has adjusted the fuel according to the type of vehicle. It is also not recommended to replace the contents of different types of fuel with different octane (RON) levels.
“The driver should always be consistent in choosing quality fuel, so that the vehicle engine is always durable and well-maintained. It is safer to use quality fuel with octane/cetane recommended by the manufacturer, so that the engine can work optimally,” concluded Irto.
