Quoted from Sky Sports on Monday (25/7/2022), the Italian is believed to have agreed a five-year contract plus an option for a one-year extension with West Ham and Scamacca will fly to London for a medical.
West Ham have previously reached an agreement with Sassuolo over a transfer fee for Scamacca which is believed to be £35.5 million, with a breakdown of 30.5 million up front and another 5 million in additions.
West Ham took an interest in the 23-year-old following Scamacca’s promising form for Sassuolo last season, scoring 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances.
West Ham’s success in landing Scamacca does not necessarily eliminate their interest in bringing Armando Broja from Chelsea, although until now there has been no progress on the transfer of the Albanian player.
The Hammers are also now waiting for a response from French League club Lille regarding the potential transfer of midfielder Amadou Onana and monitoring Piotr Zielinski’s situation at Napoli.
Scamacaa will be West Ham’s fourth signing of the transfer window this summer having previously landed defender Nayef Aguerd from Rennes, made goalkeeper Alphonse Areola permanent from PSG and landed midfielder Flynn Downes from Swansea City.
West Ham continue to strive to strengthen their squad after this season will appear in four competitions namely the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Conference League.
