SUZUKI Baleno first appeared in 1995, and has been transformed several times, from sedan to model hatchbacks. This year, Baleno is entering his 27th year of paving in the country.
First Generation (1995-2003)
Baleno gen I was present in Indonesia in 1995. Carrying a 1,600 cc engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The first generation Baleno presents the advantages of efficient fuel consumption and a soft suspension.
Entering 2000, Suzuki Indonesia introduced Baleno Millennium as a facelift the first with an engine capacity of 1500 cc. The exterior is made more oval and stylish thanks to changes to the grille, headlights and rims that were more modern for its time.
Facelift first there are additional features, such as tilt steering, central lock, power steering, and double DIN head unit. Changes to the rim and grille were made again in 2002 to make it more sporty.
Second Generation: Baleno Next-G (2003-2007)
The second generation Baleno is known as the Baleno Next-G and has changes to the body, chassis and interior that are adapted to the shifting trends of the time. On the interior side, the panel meter comes with a more modern digital model. The cabin space is also designed to be wider and more spacious than the first generation Baleno.
In addition to the exterior and interior, Baleno Next-G has also been equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution). Comes with a 1000 cc M15A engine with VVT technology that produces 100 hp at 5,900 rpm and 133 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm. Offered in 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic variants.
Two years later (2005), Suzuki again made a refresh on the Baleno Next-G with a new body and grille, new colors and interior design, as well as the presence of the MID (Multi-Information Display) in the middle of the dashboard.
Third Generation: Neo Baleno (2008-2010)
In 2008, the third generation Baleno came under the name Neo Baleno which was taken from the base of the SX4. The design is much more modern, especially in the headlights that extend to the fenders and the hood.
The car body also tends to be round. Relying on the M15A engine, the Neo Baleno comes with more complete features than the second generation Baleno. However, a shift in trends made Suzuki stop marketing the Baleno in 2010.
Fourth Generation: New Baleno (2017-2019)
After almost 7 years of rest, Suzuki Indonesia again introduced Baleno with a new concept at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, August 10, 2017. Carrying the tagline ‘The Complete Hatchback’. New Baleno presents a concept exterior liquid flow and a more luxurious design.
New Baleno already relies on a modern platform, namely HEARTECT which is light but strong. With the K14B engine with a capacity of 1,373 cc, the New Baleno can put out 92.4 ps of power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.
This latest generation Baleno features a more informative MID for riders, as well as other features such as Auto Climate Control which can facilitate the driver in determining the temperature level in the cabin.
New Baleno Facelift (2019-present)
At the end of 2019, Suzuki Indonesia re-introduced the New Baleno with some refreshments. New Baleno facelift it comes with a sportier front bumper design, a wider grille, 16-inch rims, and additional LED Projector Headlamp, and design fog lamp more stylish.
The interior comes with a dark gray cabin that is more elegant and prioritizes driver comfort with a lever that can adjust the height of the seat position so that it is more ergonomic.
