Merdeka.com – Megawati Soekarnoputri arrived in Jeju, South Korea, Monday (12/9/2022) local time. Megawati and her entourage were greeted by the Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea, Gandi Sulistiyanto, at Jeju Airport, around 18.00 local time.
During her visit to Jeju this time, Mrs. Megawati was accompanied by the General Treasurer of the PDI-P who is also the Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey. Meanwhile, the chairman of the PDI-P DPP Rokhmin Dahuri is scheduled to arrive in Jeju, Tuesday (13/9/2022).
In Jeju, on Wednesday (14/9/2022), in her capacity as Chair of the BRIN Steering Committee, Megawati will witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Jeju National University (JNU) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Fisheries (KKP). The event then continued with a visit to the Marine Aquaculture Laboratory at Jeju National University.
The main agenda in Jeju will be held on Thursday (15/9/2022), which is the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity. There will be 2,000 participants at the 17th Jeju Forum. A number of VIP guests from a number of countries are scheduled to attend and deliver material at this event.
In addition to delivering a speech, Megawati will distribute the book Pancasila, the Basic State of Indonesia in English which explains the history of the birth of Pancasila and an explanation of the five precepts.
Megawati is also scheduled to meet Jeju Governor Oh Young-hun and plant a new tree at Megawati Soekarnoputri Garden which is located in a hotel area on Jeju Island. The garden was inaugurated by Mrs. Megawati in May 2017.
