Merdeka.com – In order to support G20 Indonesia and focus on digital transformation, GoTo Financial, part of the GoTo Group, presented a series of educations about digital finance during the 2022 Indonesian Digital Financial Economy Festival (FEKDI) held by Bank Indonesia and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs on 11 – 15 July 2022.
The series of education presented through the GoPay booth was part of the ‘side event’ of the G20 Finance Track: 3rd Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting (FCBD) Meeting and 3rd Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting (FMCBG) Meeting in Nusa Dua, Bali.
GoTo Financial Group Head Compliance Budi Gandasoebrata said, “FEKDI 2022 is a melting pot for all stakeholders – from regulators, banks, digital wallets, MSMEs, to consumers – to gather and discuss strategies for accelerating national economic recovery through digitalization. This is a strategic opportunity for us to intensify educational efforts around the solutions offered by digital financial services.”
Also attending as one of the speakers in the discussion held by FEKDI 2022, Budi added that education about digital finance was considered important given the increasing trend of digital finance in the community.
As stated by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartanto at the opening of FEKDI 2022, the value of Indonesia’s digital trade will reach IDR 401 trillion in 2021 in line with the increasing trend of online shopping and digital payments. Previously, reports from Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company had also projected that Indonesia’s internet economy in 2025 would reach USD 146 billion.
In addition to accelerating economic recovery, digitalization also encourages financial inclusion in the country. The National Financial Inclusive Survey in 2021 recorded account ownership of 65.4% and use of financial products and services by 83.6%. In 2021, Bank Indonesia also said that the number of adoptions of the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) integrated code had increased from 5.8 million to 12 million merchants in less than a year (December 2020-October 2021).
The more embedded digital financial technology in the community must be equipped with comprehensive education. So, the series of education presented by GoTo Group through GoPay at FEKDI 2022 also varies, ranging from how to use GoPay services and features for various financial needs (Payment in one app), how to open a GoPay Jago account through the Gojek application, socialization about Guaranteed Balance Back. from GoPay, to how to use GoPay Coins for various purposes.
“During FEKDI 2022, visitors will not only have the opportunity to listen to various interesting and insightful discussions from experts about digital economy and finance. However, visitors can also get direct education from industry players, one of which includes GoPay,” said Budi in his statement, Sunday (17/7).
