Fully Guaranteed Cataract Surgery, These Fishermen Are Grateful For The Presence Of The JKN | merdeka.com

womidea.com – Sarmin (47) is a participant in the National Health Insurance (JKN) segment of Non-Wage Workers whose contributions are paid by the Regional Government of Indramayu Regency. He and his family have been registered as JKN participants since early 2022.

As a fisherman, almost every day he goes out to sea looking for various marine animals to sell at the fish market. When he was at sea, Sarmin admitted that he often felt that his vision was blurry and shadowy. He had felt this for several years and it bothered him greatly because he could not see clearly.

“When I see something, it feels like there is a shadow. I don’t dare to go out to sea for long, because it’s very dangerous. Moreover, if you go out to sea, good vision conditions are needed to monitor the weather or wave movements,” said Sarmin, Monday (21/11 ).

Sarmin finally decided to have his eyes checked at the First Level Health Facility (FKTP) where he was registered. When he checked himself, the doctor at the Puskesmas referred him to a hospital in Indramayu Regency. Until finally there, an ophthalmologist advised him to immediately undergo cataract surgery in both eyes so that his vision condition would not worsen.

“Thank God, the doctor said that both of my eyes could be operated on thanks to using JKN. This November, the left eye. Later, after the left eye improves, it will be the turn of the right eye,” said Sarmin.

During cataract surgery on his left eye, Sarmin felt well served. Besides that, according to him, the doctors and nurses are also friendly. And most importantly for him, he was not charged because it was according to the procedure. Sarmin also felt grateful because he was also not charged additional costs for outpatient care after his cataract surgery. Sarmin also feels very grateful to the government and also BPJS Kesehatan for covering the cost of his cataract surgery.

“I am very grateful that I have registered for JKN. My wife and children have also been registered. This JKN program has been very helpful. I hope this program will continue to exist and continue to help every participant who needs health services,” said Sarmin.
