Elon Musk Calls Test Inserting Chips into Human Brains in Six Months | merdeka.com

womidea.com – The richest man in the world from the United States Elon Musk said yesterday he hopes the wireless brain chip developed by his company Neuralink will be undergoing clinical trials in humans within six months.

Neuralink has been developing brain chips that can later be installed in the brains of patients with disabilities so they can move and communicate again. According to Musk the chip will also be able to restore the eyes of blind patients.

The company, which is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Texas, has been testing their products on animals for the past few years while seeking approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to carry out tests. clinical trials in humans.

“We want to be very, very careful and make sure this is going to work before installing a chip device into a human,” Musk said in the latest breakdown of his company’s chip developments.

The two people who will be targeted for implanting the Neuralink chip will allow them to see and move limbs that were not previously possible, Musk said.

“Even if the person is blind from birth, we believe we can restore his sight,” he said.

Neuralink’s last public presentation took place a year ago involving a monkey implanted with a brain chip and able to play computer games by thinking on its own.

Musk wants to develop a chip that can make the brain control complex electronic devices that can eventually restore motor function in people with disabilities and treat diseases such as Parkinson’s, dementia and Alzheimer’s.
