Convinced that Inflation Rises, Ridwan Kamil’s Count in West Java Needs IDR 180 Billion for Social Assistance | merdeka.com

Merdeka.com – Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil said that the inflation rate is still in the calculation although it is predicted to increase due to the new price of fuel oil (BBM) is subsidized. According to him, before the goodness of BBM, West Java’s inflation rate decreased, from 4.9 to 4.7.

“We haven’t monitored it yet after the fuel price increase. Because fuel will definitely affect inflation, it’s just not measured. That’s the number before the fuel price goes up, after the fuel price goes up there’s no study yet, but I have a feeling that it will go up, I just don’t know how much,” he said. Ridwan KamilBandung, Monday (12/9).

On the other hand, in terms of monitoring the post-fuel fuel economy situation, Ridwan Kamil admitted that he would oversee the distribution of direct cash assistance (BLT) and social assistance funds (bansos) for groups most affected by the increase in fuel prices, especially fishermen, farmers and SMEs.

“The President’s strategy is that two percent of central transfer funds should be used as a support for social assistance. The provincial government already has a budget of around Rp. 80 billion for social assistance. Rp. 30 (billion) in cash, the rest is in the form of other facilities,” he explained.

“Each district/city area averages Rp. 3 or Rp. 4 billion, if you multiply by 27 (regions) there is Rp. 100 billion, for a total of Rp. 180 billion, the funds from the regional government will be used for social assistance for four months,” he continued.

From the budget, the targeted community will receive Rp. 100 to Rp. 150,000 per month. In addition, it will hold a low-cost market operation.

Beyond that, Ridwan Kamil claimed to have carried out price monitoring in traditional markets. As a result, he said that there was not much increase after the fuel oil policy was increased, except for fish.

“So fish is a direct influence. The dynamics of chili and others are due to supply and demand not because of rising fuel prices. But there is a change in behavior after the announcement of fuel, people reduce their consumption of chicken and meat. Because according to traders, buyers are down. Outside of that, it’s safe,” he concluded.
