Merdeka.com – The iron for the High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) tower belonging to PLN in Pasir Putih, Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau was stolen some time ago. That iron is worth hundreds of millions rupiahbut sold to a middleman for Rp. 150,000.
Police has arrested the stolen PLN iron goods dealer with the initials MA (28). Police said the perpetrator was arrested for buying 16 pieces of SUTT tower iron belonging to PT PLN from two people he did not know. The theft caused the PLN tower to collapse and an emergency tower was built.
Learning from that experience, the Riau Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mohammad Iqbal immediately went to the PLN Riau and Riau Islands Region Office, on Jalan Tuanku Tambusai, Labuh Baru Barat Village, Pekanbaru City.
“This electricity issue is very important for the community and must be maintained and managed properly,” said Iqbal Saturday (16/7).
Iqbal ensured that all Riau Police personnel would guard every vital object owned by PLN. Including all elements of society, Iqbal hopes that they can feel that they have PLN to reduce the theft rate.
“If there is (theft) we are ready to follow up on it. As has happened recently. Two iron towers were stolen and the perpetrators have been arrested,” said the high-ranking officer who graduated from the 1991 Police Academy.
According to Iqbal, PLN and police requires good communication efforts to the community in the problem of electricity development in the community.
“Officers guarantee and maintain security, and we are open in addressing existing problems,” he said.
Meanwhile, the GM of the Distribution Main Unit and the Sumatra Load Control Center, Dispriansyah, said that apart from the theft of cables, his party together with Inspector General Iqbal also discussed trees related to electricity transmission.
“However, PLN is constrained in cutting the trees,” said Dispriansyah.
Dispriansyah also said that PLN has 4 units throughout Sumatra in power plants. On the island of Sumatra, there are also 3 types of large power plants, namely Palembang and Bengkulu. According to him, the management of this power plant is managed by PLN directly in collaboration with the private sector.
“Riau is a strategic place in this power plant such as from Payakumbuh and Kiliranjao,” he said.
GM of the Main Unit for Riau and Riau Islands Region Agung Murdifi said that currently in Pekanbaru there are vital objects on Jalan Sutomo which control Riau and the Riau Islands.
From a business perspective, said Agung, there is growth and an increase. His party expressed his gratitude to the Riau Police for maintaining electricity supply to every area.
“We are trying to distribute electricity to every village or hamlet in every Riau region,” he explained.
Previously reported by merdeka.com, personnel from the Siak Hulu Sector Police arrested an iron collector stolen from the PLN High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) tower in Pasir Putih, Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The perpetrator admitted that he bought the iron for hundreds of millions of rupiah with 150 thousand rupiah.
“PLN iron collector initials MA (28). The perpetrator was arrested Tuesday (5/7) yesterday, he bought 16 pieces of SUTT tower iron belonging to PT PLN Persero from two people he did not know,” said Siak Hulu Sector Police Chief Commissioner Rusyandi Zuhri Siregar, Thursday (7/7).
The police moved to find the perpetrators after receiving reports that the PLN tower iron was missing, causing two towers to collapse. They then conducted an investigation in one of the scrap metal storage warehouses in Kubang Village, the warehouse belonging to the suspect MA.
After checking, it was found that 16 iron rods were suspected to be part of the tower that was taken by the perpetrators of the theft.
“The suspect MA bought the 16 iron rods from 2 people he did not know, at a price of Rp. 150,000, and weighing 30 kilograms,” he said.
Meanwhile, the perpetrators of the iron theft that caused the PLN tower to fall are still being pursued. For the custodian, police ensnare Article 363 in conjunction with Article 480 of the Criminal Code.
“We are still pursuing the two thieves. Please pray that we will immediately arrest the perpetrators. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court suspect is charged with Article 363 in conjunction with Article 480 of the Criminal Code,” said Rusyandi.
