Suara.com – A number of houses in Pala gardenKampung Melayu Village, East Jakarta submerged flood about 175 centimeters high on Saturday (15/7/2022). The flood was said to be due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River due to heavy rains that flushed the DKI Jakarta area.

Satpol PP officer, Andreas said that initially the water level only reached 75 centimeters at around 03.00 WIB. Over time, the flood height slowly rose to 175 centimeters.

“So we checked at 03.00 WIB, it was about 75 centimeters,” Andreas told reporters.

Andreas explained that the flood submerged the houses of residents in RW 04 RW 05 Kampung Melayu. Because their houses were flooded, a number of residents have started to save valuables to higher ground.

“For vehicles (motorcycles) have been evacuated,” he said.

Although the water level has reached the thighs of adults, local residents have not decided to evacuate. They plan to evacuate if the water level rises.

“We will see the situation, if it has risen, we will direct it to evacuate,” he said.
