Merdeka.com – Earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 5.3 rocked Gorontalo Province on Sunday at around 19.58 WIB, according to information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) received at Jakarta.
Epicenter earthquake located at 70 km southwest of Bonebolango, Gorontalo, the location is at 0.10 degrees south latitude and 123.12 degrees east longitude with a depth of 104 kilometers.
The earthquake was centered in Bone Bolango Regency on Sunday night, and was felt in several areas in Gorontalo Province.
“The shaking was felt and even quite worrying because it lasted for more than a minute, making my wife and I choose to leave the house,” said Idrus (55), a resident of Titidu Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency.
He said the earthquake that occurred was accompanied by a drizzling atmosphere.
However, several residents around his house, he said, chose to leave their homes in anticipation of a bigger shock.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in published information, stated that the earthquake was centered 70 kilometers southwest of Bone Bolango, Gorontalo Province.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.3 at a depth of 104 kilometers, and had no tsunami potential.
