Merdeka.com – 13-year-old American girl Alena Analeigh Wicker was accepted into medical school a year after graduating from high school.
Alena shared the news on her Instagram which has 20,000 followers.
“I tried hard to pursue my dreams and realize my dreams. Mama, I succeeded,” he wrote in his upload, quoted from CNN, Wednesday (27/7).
Alena was accepted into the University of Alabama’s Heersink School of Medicine at Birmingham. The university confirmed this in a statement to CNN.
Alena posted on Instagram that she graduated from high school last year when she was 12 years old. He has also amassed a series of achievements.
“I’m just a normal 13-year-old kid,” he said in an interview with The Washington Post.
Not only that. He currently attends two universities; Arizona State University and Oakwood University major in biological sciences.
How did he do that at such a young age?
Alena claims to have good time management skills.
“And I’m very disciplined,” he said.
She also founded “The Brown STEM Girl” to engage, empower, and educate children of color to explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).
Alena is very fond of STEM, NASA, and Lego. Her mother, Daphne McQuarter, told The Washington Post she was aware of her daughter’s intelligence as a toddler.
“Alena is talented,” Daphne said.
